Shaft parts processing is one of the typical and common parts processing. According to the different structure of shaft parts, it can generally be divided into three types: optical shaft, stepped shaft and special-shaped shaft; or divided into solid shaft, hollow shaft and so on.


The center hole of the positioning precision datum surface should be processed before rough machining. After quenching and tempering and before grinding, a process of repairing the center hole should be arranged. After quenching and tempering, the center hole is to eliminate the heat treatment deformation and oxide scale of the center hole, and the center hole is to improve the accuracy of positioning the precision reference surface and reduce the surface roughness value of the tapered surface before grinding. When drawing up the process of the drive shaft, while considering the processing of the main surface, the processing of the secondary surface should also be considered. When semi-finishing ¢52mm, ¢44mm and M24mm outer circle, it should be turned to the size specified in the drawing, and each undercut, chamfer and thread should be processed at the same time; the three keyways should be milled after semi-finishing turning and before grinding It can be machined to ensure a more accurate positioning datum when milling the keyway, and it can avoid damaging the finished outer surface when milling the keyway after finishing.
